Prior to qualifying as a barrister and mediator I previously set up, grew and sold three technology start-up businesses of my own. One was involved in a complex commercial dispute that settled at mediation. The combination of those experiences makes me unique in being able not only to understand the legal issues involved in a dispute, but also to get behind them to assist parties identify lasting, workable solutions for the future.
An example of this is one mediation I conducted between a supplier and a large blue chip technology client. The mediation started with a bitter dispute and ended with supplier being granted a new two year contract to provide services! There’s no way that would have happened if the two had continued their path to the Courtroom.
